New: Glitter and Gossip

I've come up with a completely new concept in papercraft called

Glitter and Gossip!

You've heard of Knit and Natter  for knitting and Stitch and Bitch for fabric?  Well this is the papercrafts version.

Come and meet old friends and new.  Learn a new technique or bring your own work.  Lacking inspiration or stuck with wat to do next come along for some advice or inspiration or just for a cup of tea!

So what's the format?
Starting at 7pm there will be a about half an hour of teaching, with materials provided for a small charge. After that you can finish the project or work on your own creations.
If you just want to bring your own projects then please do, advice will be available following the finish of the taught element.
Want to learn a particular technique then put in your request and I'll try and programme it in.

It all starts 16th October in St Peter Port

...or two

Appologies for the alignment...I'm still waiting for my computer to be sorted...

I just love printing on ribbon, you can choose and name and any sentiment.

So, decide what you'd like to say and type it in to a word document, change the font and change the colour if you'd like.

Print on to a plain piece of paper

Using repositionable glue (I use the green tombow stuff from Stampin' Up!) stick a line across and just beyond the type you've just printed.  Leave the glue to go tacky if you're using tombow.

Position the ribbon you wish to print on on top of the glue covering the whole area of the type.  make sure its straight.

Return the paper to the paper drawer or feed and reprint without changing wour settings.

It may take a few goes to feed the paper in the right way so practice first without the ribbon.

The less shiny the ribbon the better the print...the one I used here is satin and organza from Stampin' Up! so the print is fainter on the satin.  I would suggest that you don't try to reprint over the ribon as it could lead to either the colour spearding or the type moving slightly.  Have fun trying and let me know how you get on!

A Christening...

Here's a post I started earlier, before the computer crash....I hope it keeps you coming back for more.  Don't for get the Farmer's Market tomorrow

It's Christening season, here's a special one I created last year using Baja Breeze.  The easel card format makes the card so easy to adapt for any name.

Christenings part too coming soon.

Thursday 7 February 2013

I'm so sorry I've not been on here lately, but my computer as crashed, my 11 year old laptop, or is it 12, can't cope with the newer blogger format and frankly typing on my phone is quite a chore.  I hope to be back soon with more projects and perhaps a class or too.

I'm selling my creations and some new and second hand crafting goodies at the St Martins Farmers Market on Saturday mornings 9.00-12.15.  Come and buy or come and chat, there's excellent coffee from the charity cafe, along with loads of produce and gifts and bric a brac and books.  I might even get chance to set up a demonstration this week.
